Star Alliance Launches Navigator iPad App - First Airline Alliance to Introduce Customised iPad App - 21 May, 2013

Frankfurt, Germany – Star Alliance has expanded its mobile device offer by introducing the customized Navigator app for the iPad. The new app complements the existing iPhone app and is a continuation of the Alliance’s strategy of providing easy mobile access to its products and services.

The hallmark of the new tool is an interactive 3D globe which visually depicts the 27 airline network of more than 21,900 daily flights covering 1,329 world-wide destinations.

New to any Star Alliance web or mobile offer is the "My Trip" feature which enables customers to store and monitor their Alliance flight itineraries and is only available on the Navigator iPad app.

Using the app, customers can also access to a variety of Alliance travel services such as Flight Search -covering flight schedules for all Star Alliance member airlines, Flight Status – tracking any Star Alliance member airline flight and Lounge Finder – providing details of the more than 1,000 lounges offered by Star Alliance and its member airlines. Airport Information, including weather, city guides, lounge locations and details of the member airlines serving the selected destination is also available.

With Frequent Flyer Benefits representing one of the primary Alliance customer benefits, a dedicated section detailing these along with information on the Star Alliance Gold and Silver privileges is also featured. This section is complemented by videos, images and texts on customer advocates who represent each of the Alliance’s customer benefits, detailing their real life travel experiences, lives and journeys.

The information on the Alliance app is rounded off by a section providing details and facts on the individual member airlines, including booking contact numbers, images and videos.

The app can now be downloaded via www.staralliance.com or directly from the App store.
