Ethiopian Update on the Status of the Volcanic Ash Cloud - 17 June, 2011
The airspace of Northern Ethiopia has been affected by volcanic ash cloud since June 15, 2011. Except for domestic flights to Northern Ethiopia, and flights to Khartoum and Djibouti, all other Ethiopian Airlines international flights have been operating smoothly with some route deviations, to avoid the volcanic ash cloud.
Flights to Khartoum will resume this evening while flights to Eastern Ethiopia have been recently affected. The ash cloud is expected to clear soon and flights to Northern and Eastern Ethiopia and Djibouti will resume accordingly.
