Ethiopian Signs Code Share Deal with Air China - 15 December, 2010

Ethiopian Airlines is pleased to announce that it has entered into a code share agreement with Air China. The code share agreement strengthens Ethiopian’s partnership with one of the global airlines in China, allowing passengers of both carriers to have wider choices of services between Asia and Africa. Currently, Air China operates 925 daily departures to 156 scheduled destinations throughout the world.

Under this agreement, the two carriers jointly provide fourteen weekly flights on the Addis Ababa Guangzhou and Addis Ababa Beijing routes. The new code share will also strengthen Ethiopian’s flight network between Addis Ababa and Asian countries. Likewise, the agreement will provide Asian customers seamless connection via Addis Ababa to vast Ethiopian network in Africa.

Air China, the member of Star Alliance, is the world’s largest carrier by market capitalization with a capacity of 5,090 flights each week worldwide.

Ethiopian Airlines, one of the largest airlines in Africa, continues to enhance its network by means of code share agreements with several regional and international carriers in Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Africa.
