Ethiopian Graduates 115 Marketing Trainees - 26 October, 2010

Ethiopian Airlines School of Marketing (SOM) graduated five batches of trainees on Tuesday 26, October 2010 in the fields of Airport operations and Ticket office operations. Among the graduates 50 of them are trained in back office support while 43 trained in airport activities operation for five months. The remaining 22 are trained in reservation and ticketing for four months.

At the event held at the Ethiopian headquarters, Mr Girma Wake, CEO of Ethiopian Airlines gave out diplomas to the graduates and awards to top performing graduates in the presence of the Airline’s top Management, invited guests and family members.

During their stay at the training center, the trainees have taken rigorous classroom and on-the-job trainings in their respective fields of studies. The graduates will soon be assigned at the Airport and Sales offices of the Ethiopian Airlines.

Today’s graduates will bring the total number of marketing trainees from the center to 1,616 since its inception in 1981.The induction of these freshly trained, qualified, young and energetic employees into the workforce is believed to accelerate the Airline’s effort to reinforce its position as Africa’s world class Airlines that provides safe and dependable services to international and domestic customers.

Including School of Marketing, the Ethiopian Airlines Aviation Academy has training schools for Pilots, Aviation Maintenance Technicians, Cabin Crew and Finance personnel. The schools have been providing trained man power to the Airline as well as for customers of various countries.
