Ethiopian Awarded Full Membership of the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS - 05 Jun, 2015

Ethiopian Airlines is pleased to announce that Ethiopian Aviation Academy, the largest aviation academy in Africa, has been awarded full membership of the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS from May 20, 2015.

The Academy attained the full membership status following the successful development of a Standardized Training Package (STP) on “Aviation English for Aircraft Maintenance Technicians” as a requirement for full membership. The STP Ethiopian developed has been declared as one of the best courses in the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS STP library by ICAO. The ICAO validator assigned to evaluate the course affirmed that the course has 94% success rate according to his assessment.

This will put the Ethiopian Aviation Academy as the largest aviation school in Africa, at the forefront of technology, industry standard systems, cutting edge to be world class learning center.

CEO of Ethiopian Airlines Group, Mr. Tewolde GebreMariam, said, "The Academy is the bedrock of Ethiopian success structure making us self-sufficient in the provision of highly skilled and crucial aviation professionals such as pilots, aircraft technicians, cabin crew, marketing and finance personnel, customer service agents as well as aviation leaders. We have given it due focus to expand both the scope of the training and the in-take capacity of the Academy. This full membership status is the result of the continuous heavy investment we are making on human resource development and the hard work of our Aviation Academy course developers and instructors."

Ethiopian Aviation Academy has recently been voted as "Airline Training Services Provider of the Year" by the African Airlines Association. It has transformed into one of the seven business units of the Ethiopian Airlines Group.It is certified by the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority, the U.S Federal Aviation Administration, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and IOSA (IATA Safety Audit).
