Business travelers to and from Conakry will have a direct link to the Addis Ababa hub which in turn will provide fast and easy connections between Conakry and most major cities in the Middle East and Asia – including Dubai, Beirut, Bombay, Bangkok, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, and Beijing, and the vice-versa. Ethiopian’s flights to Conakry will bring the Republic of Guinea closer to the rest of the world thereby further enhancing and boosting its economic development and partnerships.

Conakry is the capital city of the Republic of Guinea. The city is one of the largest in Africa with over 1.8 million inhabitants. Guinea is a major producer of diamonds, gold and bauxite. According to a legend, the name of the city comes from the fusion of the name "Cona", a wine and cheese producer of the Baga people, and the word "nakiri", which means the other bank or side.

The new service to Conakry brings Ethiopian’s total destinations in Africa to 36 and to 57 worldwide. Tewolde GebreMariam, COO of Ethiopian Airlines, said “The new service from Conakry will provide new connections from Guinea to the major cities in Asia. We are committed to strengthening our network in West Africa, and look forward to introducing Ethiopian hospitality to the people of Guinea.”
