Ethiopian Airlines signed On Point solution agreement with GE Aviation - 14 November, 2013

Ethiopian Airlines has signed a 10-year OnPoint solution agreement with GE for maintenance, repair and overhaul of its GE90 engines. Under this agreement, GE will maintain Ethiopian’s GE90 engines that power its 16 B777 aircraft, which comprises of six B777-200LR, six B777F, and four B777-300ER.

The OnPoint solution agreement will help us in optimizing our maintenance cost and assists for maintaining a higher Dispatch Reliability of the B777 fleet. Our MRO has also developed the full Capability to Overhaul CFM56-3/-7B engines (Powering B737 Classic and Next Generation airplanes) with the assistance and support of GE Aviation. This OnPoint solution agreement will further build our growing relationship with our longtime partner GE Aviation."

In addition, GE provided Executive Management Leadership trainings to Ethiopian senior Management staffs and Flight Operations Best Practices on Engine Operation (GEnx/B787 and GE90/B777) training to Ethiopian pilots. GE provides technical and reliability support to Ethiopian MRO on the B787 GEnx engine.

Ethiopian MRO gets the approval standards of US Federal Aviation Safety Agency and European Aviation Safety Agency for third party MRO service provision.
