- Feeding needy community
Ethiopian is engaged in the provision of food to the homeless and urban needy people. The Airline has successfully conducted continuous feeding program to some extent address the social crises of covid-19. Our employees - cabin crews and other staffers have actively participated the humanitarian tasks.
Ethiopian belongs to the society and our services deserves to the society. Therefore, as part of the people, we provide good food, some snacks and love. We always strive to the betterment of the society. We not only distribute food; we also take the time to talk to our needy community so that we may learn more about them. By learning more about them, we understand how we can stand beside them in whatever they are in need.
We constantly work together with Bole sub city and other stake holders to handle critical issues of the surrounding community.
- Donation during disasters
Ethiopian Airlines Foundation is always available to the community during worst case scenarios. The Foundation provides food, relief supplies, emotional support, and other supports during disasters.
Ethiopian Airlines Foundation has contributed endowments in kind to mitigate COVID-19 humanitarian crises. The donation is estimated 100 million birr.
- Support local charity organizations upon request
Ethiopian Airlines helps local Non-Governmental Organizations as part of its corporate social responsibility. We support them with the provision of mixed wears, baby trolleys, wheelchairs and other medical equipment etc.
- Ethiopian transports medical and educational supplies
Ethiopian has been partnering with various local and international aid organizations in transporting medical and educational supplies. It has entered a mutual agreement with Airlink to deliver humanitarian aid worldwide through donated passenger and air cargo transportation.
Ethiopian Airlines is one of the 50 airlines involved in Boeing’s Humanitarian Delivery Flights Program. As part of this program, it has been transporting medical and educational donations to hospitals and schools in Ethiopia and other African countries.
Ethiopian Airlines has been supporting the lives of many individuals by filling the gaps of their financial constraint to cover their medical travel costs. In fact, this has been a great help to the needy patients to access overseas treatment to improve their medical conditions.
