Ethiopian Airlines Group, Africa’s leading carrier, has confirmed purchase of nine Boeing 787-9 aircraft, with deliveries planned between 2031 and 2033. Ethiopian Aviation University, the largest aviation center of excellence in Africa, graduates 457 aviation professionals from 12 countries. The graduates were trainees of the university’s Pilot Training, Aircraft Maintenance Training, and Cabin Crew Training schools. Marking the trainees’ achievement, the university held a vibrant graduation ceremony at its facility today, 17 January 2026.

Ethiopian Airlines Group, the largest airline in Africa, is pleased to announce the official construction commencement of Bishoftu International Airport.  Construction has begun today, January 10, 2026, following an official groundbreaking ceremony. The historic event was graced by His Excellency Dr. Abiy Ahmed, the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, ministers, high level government officials, industry leaders, stakeholders, and Ethiopian Airlines executives.

Please note missing this flight will leave them with no option to travel to destination JED.
