Ethiopian Airlines Group, the largest airline in Africa, has won three awards at the 2nd Ghana National Aviation Awards held on Friday, September 1, 2017.

Ethiopian has been crowned: ‘Best International Airline of the Year’, ‘Best African Airline of the Year’ and ‘The Best Airline Operator Award’. The event, supported by the Ghana Ministry of Aviation and the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, was graced by players in the industry.

While receiving the awards, Ethiopian Airlines Area Manager in Ghana, Mrs. Genet W/Michael said, “On behalf of Ethiopian Airlines Group and on my own behalf, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our esteemed customers for their vote of confidence and patronized Ethiopian. OurThe passengers are our best promoters. They have shown confidence in our product." Mrs. Genet also thanked the organizers of the Ghana National Aviation Awards and the Government of Ghana for its support to Ethiopian.

Handing over the award, the Deputy Minister of Aviation, Kwabena Okyere-Darko, said that the government of Ghana has restructured the industry for better results. He cited the removal of VAT on domestic ticket which has yielded a 23% increase in Domestic Air Travel, in the first 5 months of 2017.

Ethiopian Airlines is an award winning airline graced recently by SkyTrax, as ‘the Best African Airline’ among others.
